Chrome Extension Privacy Policy
Last updated on: 10/30/2026
This policy explains how the “PostBridge” Google Chrome extension handles data. It complements our general Privacy Policy, which still applies to your PostBridge account.
Summary
- The extension only reads data about your own content on LinkedIn: metrics, your posts and the comments left on your posts.
- Data is sent only to PostBridge (api.postbridge.co) over HTTPS and linked to your account.
- We do not sell, rent or share this data for advertising.
- You can pause, disconnect or request deletion at any time.
1. Data the extension collects
Collection only happens when you have connected the extension to your PostBridge account, capture is turned on and you open one of the following LinkedIn pages:
- Your posts' impressions: the post identifier (URN) and link, impressions and members reached, as shown in the post's analytics.
- Creator analytics: impressions and members reached for the period and the percentage change, from your profile's analytics pages.
- Profile views: number of views and the period, from your profile views page.
- Your posts: text, approximate date, link and visible counts (reactions, comments, reposts, impressions) of posts you published, read from your recent activity page and your own post pages. Reposts of other people's content are ignored.
- Comments on your posts: the comment identifier, the commenter's name, headline and profile link, the text, the approximate date and, for replies, which comment it replies to. Only comments already loaded on the screen are read.
- Capture date and time, generated by the extension.
2. Other people's data (people who comment on your posts)
The only third-party data read is the public information of comments left on your posts: name, headline, profile link and comment text. It is used only to show those comments in your PostBridge Comments inbox and help you reply. We do not build profiles of these people, contact them or use this data for marketing. Commenters can ask for their data to be removed using the contact email below.
3. What the extension does not collect
- Your LinkedIn password, cookies or access tokens.
- Private messages, connections, contacts or invitations.
- Your browsing history or activity outside the pages listed above.
- Posts and comments on other people's content (feed, other profiles, groups).
- Payment data.
4. How collection works
- The extension only reads what is already visible on the LinkedIn page. It does not use private LinkedIn APIs.
- It never clicks, scrolls, posts or interacts on your behalf (for example, it never clicks “load more comments”).
- Nothing is collected if the extension is not connected to your account or capture is turned off.
5. Where the data goes
Captured data is sent over HTTPS only to the PostBridge API at api.postbridge.co and linked to your account. The extension authenticates with its own extension token (prefix “pbx_”), which you generate in the PostBridge app and can revoke at any time. It never receives or stores your LinkedIn or PostBridge password.
6. How we use the data
- Show your posts' metrics, reach and engagement in PostBridge.
- List posts you published directly on LinkedIn alongside the ones created in PostBridge.
- Show the comments on your posts in the Comments inbox so you can reply.
- When you ask for it, generate AI reply suggestions: the comment and post text are sent to the AI provider used by PostBridge only to generate the suggestion.
7. Storage and retention
In your browser (chrome.storage.local): the extension token, the queue of captures not yet sent (deleted once sent), the history of the last 10 uploads and the on/off state. This data stays until you disconnect or uninstall the extension.
At PostBridge: uploaded data is kept on PostBridge servers (Supabase/AWS infrastructure, as described in the general Privacy Policy) while your account is active, to keep your metrics history. You can request deletion at any time. After the account is closed, the periods in the general Privacy Policy apply.
8. Sale and sharing
We do not sell or rent the data collected by the extension and do not use it for advertising. It is only processed by the infrastructure providers needed to run PostBridge, listed in the general Privacy Policy, or when required by law.
9. How to pause, disconnect or delete
- Pause: turn capture off in the extension popup.
- Disconnect: in PostBridge, go to Settings → Extension → Disconnect. The extension token is revoked and no new data is sent. Logging out in the popup also deletes the token and the local queue.
- Uninstall: removing the extension from Chrome deletes all of its local data.
- Access, correct or delete data already sent: write to <email/>. We will reply as soon as possible.
10. Security
All communication uses HTTPS. The extension uses Manifest V3, only requests access to LinkedIn and the PostBridge API, and its token is exclusive to the extension and can be revoked at any time without affecting your app session.
11. Minors
The extension is not intended for anyone under 18.
12. Changes
If this policy changes materially, we will update this page and the date at the top and let you know in the app or by email.
13. Contact
